Buddham sharanam gachami:- Buddham sharanam gachami means I take refuge in my intellect, I am the master, we ourselves are the ones who do our bad and good, by our good deeds or by bad deeds. If a person takes up his responsibility himself, he keeps trying to move forward on every path in life. Buddham sharanam gachami means to move forward in the right direction and to withdraw oneself from the wrong direction, this is what it teaches us.

Dharmam sharanam gachami:- I take refuge in my dhamma, dhamma itself is a law that follows nature, so whenever we live our life according to the rule of this dhamma, then we get happiness and peace. And whenever we break the rule of this Dhamma, in any way, we get sorrow, we get unrest, these things we will gradually understand in life when we become aware of ourselves, we will be aware of Dhamma.

Sangham Sharanam Gachhami :- I take refuge in good people. We will be in the company of good people in life, like those who are virtuous virtuous people who walk on the right path. Because when a person goes in the company of bad people, he does bad things even without wanting because he starts getting inclined towards that and gradually he gets affected by that company. That’s why Sangham Sharanam Gachhami teaches us that we should stay in the shelter of good people and make our life well cultured.
